So when I told people that I was traveling to Colombia, a ton of them gasped and asked me if I was crazy/scared because of all the violence in the country. I'm happy to report that I have not experienced any scary moments (knock on wood) and that everyone has been extremely kind and welcoming.

Sooo I finallly made it to Guatape, bright and early, with a few fantastic ladies that I met at the soccer match... we met up at 8AM, grabbed the bus from the Caribe metro stop (instead of the doing the overpriced tour) and 2 hours later, we were there.

On Saturday night, I headed to a futbol (soccer) match between the one of the local Medellin teams, Nacional and Uniautónoma, a team from Baranquilla (hometown of Shakira and Sofia Vegara so basically everyone is beautiful). It was apparently a big match and I was suppperrr excited to goo because even if I didn't knoww anything about the players or leagues, I know Colombians love their soccer (futbol) and they love to party! :) And I was nottt disappointed.

It's rainy in Medellin & I'm hungover off Aguardentes (some Colombian liquor that's clear = DEATH) so i thought it would be a good time to write. As much as I loved Cartagena, the heat of the city was rather oppressive, so it's nice to be in Medellin where it's green, lush... and a lot cooler.
